ARRIVAL & PARKING

  • When entering the driveway, stay to the right and do not attempt to go up the steep hill on the left.

  • Please use the parking areas closest to the main entry.

  • You may park on any graveled area or under the carport. Please do not park on the grass

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Smoking of any kind is not permitted on the property or in The Lodge.

  • We kindly ask that you remove your shoes while inside the space and suggest bringing a pair of slippers if you have them.

  • In the event of loss of power, water, heat, plumbing issues or any emergency please contact us immediately. 760-994-8056

ADDITIONAL GUEST POLICY

We ask that there are no guests in addition to those previously approved on your reservation. Please refer to your reservation for the guest number. If you would like to have non-overnight visitors during your stay, please message us in advance. Subject to approval.

KITCHEN & COOKING

  • There is an electrical kettle for heating water, a toaster and microwave, in addition to standard appliances. We have a standard drip coffee machine, Keurig machine and a single cup pourover. Whole bean coffee and an electric grinder are provided. K-Cups and coffee filters are also provided.

  • The microwave is under the counter on the island by the stove.

  • Basic cooking essentials are provided including salt & pepper, cooking oil and sugar.

  • Use only induction rated cookware on the main floor cooktop. (Instructions for operation are in the drawer to the right of the stove.)

  • Please do not use knives or metal utensils in the pots or pans or on the countertops and table.

BATH & LAUNDRY

  • The lodge is on a septic system. PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING BUT TOILET TISSUE. Please use only necessary amounts of toilet tissue.

  • Guests may use laundry facilities upon request. There is no charge for these facilities. Please use only provided detergent.

HEATING & COOLING

  • The thermostat is located on the wall to the left of the entryway and can be adjusted as needed for comfort.

  • There is a space heater in the lower level bedroom, as this floor can often be cooler than the main level.

INDOOR FIREPLACES

INDOOR BURNING MAY BE PROHIBITED JULY-AUGUST

MAIN FLOOR WOOD STOVE:

  • Please only use the wood stove if you are familiar with them, as you will be held responsible for any damage related to improper use.

  • When starting a fire, please use only provided fire starter, wood and kindling and clean burning paper. Try and use a criss cross stacking method to promote airflow around each piece of wood.

  • Light the starter material, and then leave the door cracked, but don't latch it just yet. Leaving it just slightly open will help oxygen reach the fire and speed up the burn. Once the fire is going well after about 10-15 min you should be able to latch the door. The lever on the left of the stove should be pulled out toward the room until the fire is burning well with a bed of hot coals on the bottom. Push the lever in to slow the burn rate.

  • It is important to keep the area surrounding the wood stove clear of any personal belongings, blankets, clothing and other combustibles. There is a fire extinguisher located under the kitchen sink.

  • If you are not comfortable starting or maintaining a fire, please contact us or defer to using the thermostat. Please only use provided firewood.

  • Firewood is provided and can be found in the indoor storage bench or on the front porch. If you remove the cover, please put it back.

LOWER LEVEL PELLET STOVE

  • Please be sure that the unit is plugged in. Begin by opening the front glass door of the stove. Add a provided tumbleweed firestarter to the tray below the pellet shoot. Close the door and press the ON button located on the left side of the unit. Make sure top switch is set to MANUAL. The stove will automatically feed pellets from the hopper into the unit as long as the unit is on. If you need to add more pellets, they are located in the bucket sitting on the hearth. Open the top lid of the unit to add pellets to the hopper. If you need assistance starting the stove, please message us and do not leave fires unattended.

  • Pellets are provided. Firestarters can be found in the canvas bag next to the bucket of pellets on the hearth.

HOT TUB

  • There is a gravel path to the outdoor hot tub. We recommend bringing sandals.

  • The hot tub can be accessed through the basement walk-out door. There are clean towels near the door. The hot tub is set to 98°. You may want to turn it up to your desired temperature upon arrival as it can take some time to heat. Please set back to 98° at check out.

  • Never leave children unattended while using the hot tub.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATING HOT TUB COVER:

Please use two people on either side or one person inside the tub from the center. This will help prevent damage to the cover assembly.

  • 1. Fold cover half way open, starting from the front. Open away from the house.

  • 2. Gently lift and push toward the back of the hot tub and the cover assist will do the rest. Be sure not to push too hard.

  • 3. Reverse steps when closing.

OUTDOOR FIREPIT

OUTDOOR FIRES ARE SUBJECT TO LOCAL LAWS. PLEASE OBEY BURN BANS AND FOLLOW POSTED SIGNAGE. NON-COMPLIANCE MAY RESULT IN FINES. If you are unsure about burn bans, please contact us before having any outdoor fires.

  • There is an outdoor firepit under the arbor on the east side of the home. Outdoor wood fires are allowed seasonally October - June. Never leave an outdoor fire unattended and make sure it is out when you are done. Please use water to put fires out and not sand or dirt. Fires must stay in designated fire ring. There is dry firewood near the firepit under the black cover. Please re-cover any unused wood. There is a waterproof black bag with matches and fire starter. Please do not burn in the nearby outdoor wood stove as this is also used as firewood storage and becomes too hot and dangerous when used.

  • A propane gas fire pit is provided during the burn ban months (July - September) press the knob in and left while holding a flame to the rocks to ignite. Please use caution when lighting. Do not leave fire unattended and please turn off when you are finished. You may be charged an additional fee if excess gas is wasted.

TV

There is a Smart Roku TV in the basement. You will be required to input the dates of your stay and will be prompted to enter your own streaming channel credentials. You will be automatically logged out of all streaming accounts at the end of your stay.

SOUND SYSTEM

There is a Sonos speaker on the main floor. We kindly ask that you use the provided speaker and do not bring in additional speakers or sound equipment. You can connect to the speaker through the Sonos or Spotify apps and you must be connected to the WIFI.

CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS

  • Please leave used towels on the bathroom floor.

  • Wash all dishes.

  • Set thermostat to 66 (winter) or 74 (summer).

  • Make sure wood stove door is shut and latched.

  • Turn off all overhead interior lights.

  • Lock ALL doors and windows.

  • Put garbage in the dumpster near the driveway entrance. Be sure to latch the dumpster.
